Big changes have been happening at the Whatcom Family YMCA! We’ve completely transformed a large portion of our first floor to better serve our community. This space was previously home to our Downtown Early Learning Center, which moved in the summer of 2024 to its new, larger location in the Millworks development downtown. Now, we’ve reimagined the area to create even more opportunities for connection, recreation, and fun!

We’re so excited to invite you to come check it out on Monday, February 17, 2025, between 9am to 7 pm. Stop by anytime to tour the space, grab light refreshments (while they last), and learn about the programs we have planned. Kids can test out our brand-new ninja rig all day long!

Here’s what’s new:

• Versatile Community Space: We’ve added areas for casual meetups and activities. We’ll also offer space rentals for parties, meetings, and other special events—reach out to us for details!
• Intergenerational Programming: We are planning to to host workshops and structured activities for seniors, parents with young children, and more in the mornings. Then, in the afternoons, this area will become a welcoming teen center.
• Youth Ninja Rig: A 30-foot-long modular ninja course designed for kids to burn off energy, have fun, and test their ninja moves!

This renovation is part of our mission to keep creating spaces where all members can thrive, connect, and grow. We can’t wait for you to see it in action!
